Hello, I am Cannon Brooker, a dedicated IT professional currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a focus in Cybersecurity at Georgia Southern University.
I work as a Junior Network and Systems Administrator, where I manage and support core network infrastructure, safeguard user and system security, as well as maintaining the daily technological operations of a dynamic environment. My experience includes working with firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and more. This job has given me the opportunity to continuously build and expand upon my networking and cybersecurity skills.
My long-term goal is to hold a senior network engineering or security architecture position, where I can design, secure, and optimize enterprise-level systems in both on-site and cloud environments.
What sets me apart and truly showcases my commitment to the IT domain is what I do outside of work and school. I've built a home lab from the ground up, where I experiment with configurations, simulate network issues, and sharpen my skills using real tools and scenarios.
As well as building home lab environments, in my free time I also enjoy playing golf and exploring new technologies.
